Orenburg State Medical University
Established in 1944, the Orenburg State Medical University, formerly known as the Medical Institute n.a Chkalov, began a course year wherein classes began at the Department of Medicine. The official founding members of this institution were Lazarenko F.M., histologist, professor; Fetisov N.V., surgeon-dentist, first director of the Institute; Olifson L.E., chemist, associate professor; Silantyev A.K. associate professor, surgeon.
In 1970 the Department of Pediatrics was opened along with a scientific-research laboratory which was concerned with exploring the mechanisms the natural immune system. The Department of post-graduate training for specialists was first opened under the name of Doctors Improvement Faculty in 1985. In the same year a student’s hostel No. 3 and a canteen were also built. Two more departments- the Department of preventive care and the Department of Higher Nursing Care, were opened in the 1990’s as part of the Institute’s development plan. The Pharmaceutical, the Dental, and the Clinical Psychology Departments were all opened in 2002 and after this the Orenburg State Medical Academy had become a higher educational institute with a total of 8 departments.

He / She should have obtained 50% marks in the Physics / Chemistry / Biology / English at the Class XII higher secondary (10+2) level for the general category. All reserved category students having aggregate 40% marks could also apply. He/she has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL. There are no entrances examinations and the admissions are strictly on a first come first served basis.
